New England Patriots running back said he recently experienced “an unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalization for several days” and that tests have “come back positive and reassuring.”
In a statement posted to social media Friday, said “the cause of this remains unknown and unexplainable.”
“I will continue to work closely with specialists and physical therapists to focus on my recovery, as these symptoms have affected my strength, coordination and some of my physical functions,” Henderson said. “I am committed to doing everything necessary to return to full health.”
Henderson, 24, missed Sunday’s victory against the Miami Dolphins.
“My wife and I are deeply grateful for family and loved one, the New England Patriots organization, my agent, my medical team, teammates, and everyone who has offered prayers, encouragement and support,” Henderson said.
In six games through the 2026 season, Henderson has totaled 206 rushing yards with one touchdown, with five receptions for 45 yards.
